Mrs. Julianne Garrison: Piano and Vocal Instructor

Julianne is a classically trained solo pianist, accompanist, and private piano and voice teacher who lives in Carmel, Indiana where she teaches out of her home studio.

History and Education:

Julianne began playing the piano at the age of four and studied piano through the Suzuki Method under Elizabeth Hildebrand until the age of eighteen.  She performed regularly in Dayton, Ohio's Muse Machine concerts, Dayton's annual Oktoberfests, as well as in regular Suzuki recitals and various concert venues  until graduating from Centerville High School in 1996.   Julianne then went on to the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio where she received her Bachelors in Music and Music Education with a concentration in piano and voice.  In the summer of 1999, Julianne travelled to Scotland, England, and France with the University of Dayton "University Chorale" where she performed in several cathedrals some of which included Canterbury, St. Paul's, St. Giles, and Notre Dame Cathedrals.  After graduating, Mrs. Garrison taught choir and general music at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Fort Wayne before moving to Carmel, Indiana where she began teaching private lessons in her home music studio.

Currently a graduate student at Butler University, she is getting her Masters in Music Education with a concentration in piano pedagogy and has over forty piano and voice students that take regular lessons in her studio.  Although she works with students of all ages, she specializes in working with students ages 4-18, utilizing many of the teaching techniques learned throughout her experience as a music teacher to keep students engaged and motivated to learn as well as to accommodate the variety of musical tastes of the students. Additionally, Julianne composed and produced a compilation of science songs for the University of Dayton which enables young students to learn the STEM academics through song.   She has been teaching private piano and voice lessons in her home studio, Garrison Music of Carmel, for over fifteen years and loves sharing the art of music with her students!
